Performs all registration duties including but not limited to checking in patients, insurance verification, answering phones, and other clerical work.
Responsibilities:
- Greets and registers patients
- Answers and appropriately facilitates phone calls
- Cleans and stocks the site with other members of the team
- Preforms basic medical assisting to ensure proper patient flow
- Responsible for training/coaching new receptionists on the registration process
- Obtains pre-authorizations from insurance companies, prior to the patients appointment
- Oversee payments - collecting payments and balancing the cash drawer
- Take care of appointments - Scheduling follow ups, addressing cancelations/no shows
- Preforming pre-appointment phone calls to patients - Appointment confirmation patient education, insurance confirmation, etc.
- Handle the incoming paperwork, voicemails, emails, and faxes
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Friendly and outstanding customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft platforms
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Works in clean, smoke-free and well-lighted spaces.
- Exposure to frequent deadlines/ must have ability to handle stress effectively, subject to frequent interruptions
- Must have good visual and hearing acuity.
- Must be able to utilize keyboard and view computer screens up to 90% of shift.
- Must be able to follow directions and plan fairly complex processes & workflow
